I’ve had Beard Papa’s cream puffs several times, but the first time was the best. They are usually very fresh and flaky with an amazing vanilla cream inside. I’ve tried the chocolate as well, but vanilla is definitely the way to go.
This time around, the cream puff exterior wasn’t as fresh as I’ve had in the past. It was a bit hard, which was quite a disappointment. However, the vanilla cream was just as delicious as I remembered it – rich, sweet and decadent.
There was a new menu item I noticed called Fondant Au Chocolat. Basically this was a miniature lava cake with sugar sprinkled on top. We decided to try one of these as well. It was very rich and heavy, so the small size was actually perfect. Any more and it would have been too much.
WHAT TO GET: I would still recommend the Original Vanilla flavour – it’s the best. After you try that, you can experiment with the other flavours.
