I was lucky enough to visit Taste the Trucks this year, which was the inaugural event for Calgary’s food trucks.
The event was on a Thursday from 11 to 3 p.m. We arrived at about 1:00, hoping to avoid the lunch rush. There were crazy lines around almost every cart.
One of the food carts we visited while waiting in line for Alley Burger was Fries & Dolls. There were a couple choices that day, and I opted for the Sophia, which was fries with parmesan cheese and truffle oil. The fries were pretty decent, not super crisp but had a nice salty taste to them from the cheese. They were as addicting as potato chips, and I was glad to have tried them even though I think I prefer a plain fry with salt.
